Every engagement starts from your problem, is scoped and built into your own environment, and ends with you holding the source code, with the free right to modify it. This page explains how an engagement runs. For the deployment models and licence tiers themselves, see Deployment & Ownership, the canonical page for the commercial model.
The principle
You should be free to run and change the AI you depend on. We grant access to the source code with the free right to modify it, without the right to sublicense it to third parties.
The intent is simple: give you full practical control of the system you run your business on, while keeping the code from being passed on to others. If our relationship ever ends, your AI keeps running and your team can keep changing it.
Three ingredients, one team
Every engagement mixes three things, and adBrain owns the whole line. Most suppliers do only one of them:
- Consulting. Working out what should be built, and why, before a line of code is written.
- Open-source-based deployment. Standing hardened open-source foundations up inside your environment, so you benefit from a worldwide community and avoid lock-in.
- Our own engineering IP. The enterprise extensions, decision models, and delivery tooling we have built ourselves.
We take responsibility for the outcome: you bring the challenge, we bring the expertise to solve it, we deliver a working solution, and it is yours to run and change, source code included.
How an engagement runs
| Phase | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Discovery | We assess your problem, data, and infrastructure, and agree a measurable objective: the metric a decision should move. |
| 2. Design | We choose the right approach (decisioning model, platform, agents, or a combination) and scope the build. |
| 3. Build & deploy | We build and deploy into your environment, with security and governance from day one. |
| 4. Prove | We stand up the measurement (experiments and incrementality) so the impact is demonstrated, not assumed. |
| 5. Handover | We deliver the source code with the right to modify it, plus documentation and training. |
| 6. Support | Optional ongoing maintenance, optimisation, and new features, on your terms rather than as a dependency. |
The Prove step is deliberate: it is what separates adBrain from vendors who ship a model and move on. We build the loop that shows what actually changed.
Accountable from first conversation to handover
We stay responsible for the whole arc: framing the problem, choosing the approach, building the solution, deploying it, and handing it over. The outcome is owned end to end, not passed between suppliers.
